District 10 - Game 2: 7/8/2007

Kent played a tough Steel Lake team and lost 3 to 2. Austin Pernell pitched a great game with Devon Shamp coming into close. Steel Lake's pitcher just pitched a great game also, quieting the Kent bats. Jordan Cowan did manage to go 3 for 3 and Dylan Wright went 2 for 3 with Austin Pernell and Reese McGuire each adding a hit. I have to say the boys played great defense, but they were just unable to string together some hits. I guess we'll just have to take the tough road - please come out and cheer us on. Next game Tuesday 7/10 6:00 against Federal Way Nat. Should be a tough game.

District 10 - Game 3: 7/10/2007

The 12's won tonight beating Federal Way Nationals 10-0. Dylan Wright pitched 3 scoreless innings and Devon Shamp Closed again. The boys pounded out 9 hits. It was nice to see them hitting again. All the kids were patient tonight at the plate and hit the ball hard. The 12's play again tomorrow 711/07 at 6:00 against Federal Way American. Thanks for the support tonight it was great.

Reese McGuire pitched great going the 1st 3 inngs then Devon Shamp, the work horse of the staff, pitched 3 also, and Jake Walker came into close. DJ Elmer had a great day at the plate going 3 for 3 and driving in 5 RBI's with the help of his grand slam in the 3rd to take the lead for good; he then add a solo shot in the 5th. Jordon Cowan also hit well going 2 for 3. Come by and watch - we'll be playing Bonney Lake Thursday night and could use a great cheering section.

District 10 - Game 5: 7/12/2007

The boys played Bonney Lake tonight beating them 17-1. The bats came alive tonight. Reese hit 3 homeruns, 1 a grandslam, DJ hit 2 and Jackson hit 1, producing the power tonight. Jack Freeman, Tanner Lucas, Taylor Tinney, and Michael Tanaka all hit the ball hard tonight. Austin Pernell and DJ Elmer combined on the mound to pitch a 3 hit 1 run game, great job. Well, Kent wound up playing Steel Lake again, who knocked us into the losers bracket, and beat them 17 - 3. The kids hit extremely well. Reese McGuire had 2 grandslams. Dylan Wright, DJ Elmer, and Austin Pernell all had homeruns tonight. Michael Tanaka, Jordan Cowan and Devon Shamp also hit well tonight. Dylan Wright pitched 3 no hit innings with good defense behind him. Devon Shamp and Jake Walker came into close. The kids are on a roll going into the championship game against Auburn. Auburn is a very tough team and should be a good game. We had tons of fans there tonight hopefully you can all come back out Saturday morning at 10:00 for the Auburn game. Great job boys keep it going!

Dylan Wright went 3 for 3 with 2 homeruns and 5 RBI's and Reese McGuire also added a solo shot of his own. Jackson Huerta went 2 for 3 with Austin Pernell and DJ Elmer also adding some offense of their own. The kids were stellar in the field providing awesome defense. Come out for the Championship game Sunday at 10 am.

District 10 - Game 8: 7/15/2007

The Kent boys won the Championship 19-5 beating Auburn for the second time in 2 days. Dylan Wright and Reese McGuire combined on the mound for the win. The bats were alive again with Tanner Lucas getting the boys going with some clutch hitting, and the defense came thru in the end. Here are some final stats for the tournament. Kent scored 108 runs and gave up 15. Kent hit 31 homeruns. We had a team batting average of .452. We had 2 kids hit over .600, and 2 over .500. I truely believe the biggest strength of this team is the defense - they are awesome. We used 6 different pitchers and they all were very successful. There's one thing I can tell you is Kent has the best fans with what seem like a hundred people there rooting us on in the championship. It helps a lot and is very appreciated. ON TO STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Washington (a.k.a. Kent) Little League 12 year old all-stars had the game opener against Alaska's Diamond-West AllStar team in this year's Northwest Regional's and they started out with a BANG! Dylan Wright pitched a Perfect Game, striking out the first nine batters of the game and finishing with 11 strikeouts out of the 12 batters he faced. The only Alaska player to hit the ball had a two-hopper to DJ Elmer, playing first base, who made the out unassisted. Dylan had the backing of Kent's mighty bats from the first inning. Jordan Cowan led off with a single, followed by a double by both Reese McGuire and Dylan Wright. DJ Elmer added a single and Tanner Lucas finished the hits the first inning with a double. Kent scored 3 runs the first inning. The bats got even hotter the second inning when Austin Pernell hit a bases loaded grand slam followed by a solo home run by DJ Elmer. Jake Walker added a hard hit single with his first at bat of the game and Devon Shamp hit a ball deep to right field that hit off the top of the fence and bounced back into the field for a double. Kent scored 7 runs in the second inning. In the third inning, Kent continued to "Rain" hits. Reese started the inning with a solo home run, Dylan and Austin hit singles to get themselves on base and DJ hit his second homerun of the game to score them. Jake got on base with a hard hit ball that bounced over the shortstop's glove and Devon followed with a homerun over the left field fence. The third inning hits continued with a single by Jordan, a double by Reese and another (#3) home run by DJ Elmer. Kent scored 11 runs in the third inning. Kent's final at bats in the fourth inning included singles by Michael Tanaka, Jackson Huerta,Taylor Tinney and Austin Pernell and one final home run for Kent hit to right field by Dylan Wright. Kent scored 4 runs in the fourth to make a total of 25 runs scored in the four inning game. What a great way to start! Kent will play Saturday at 5:00 against Wyoming.
