Kent Little League - FAQs
Q: What do my registration fees go toward?
A: Your registration fees go towards covering the cost of uniforms, equipment, field maintenance, umpires, insurance, and other expenses associated with running a youth baseball league.
Q: Do you provide sibling discounts?
A: Please email [email protected]. Include the division you are registering your players in.
Q: Do you provide player scholarships?
Q: When does the season start and finish?
A: Spring Season: Registration opens in December and the season goes from March to June. Fall Season: Registration opens in June and the season goes from September to October.
Q: Are there evaluations?
- Baseball — T-Ball: No A Ball: No AA: Yes AAA: Yes. Majors: Yes. Juniors: Yes
- Softball— Minors B: No; Minors A: Yes Majors: Yes. Juniors: No
Q: When are evaluations?
- Typically 1-2 weeks after registration closes
Q: Do I need a background check to volunteer?
A: Each volunteer must have a background check and complete the Little League Abuse Awareness online course found at https://www.littleleague.org/university/
If you are registering a child to play you will be prompted to fill out a background check via email. If you or a family member or friend would like to volunteer please email [email protected] for more information.
Q: What do I need to coach?
A: We recommend you make an account on sports connect and sign up as a volunteer coach. You do not need to have a registered player to do this. Depending on the division, coaches interviews are required and are typically held in late January. A background check is required.

Q: Is there incentive to coaching?
A: Head coach will receive a 50% discount at the completion of the season and all gear has been returned.
Q: Do teams travel?
A: Baseball divisions Juniors |Majors| AAA| AA and all Softball teams will play away games at local District 10 Little League fields. Home games and practices for both Baseball and Softball will be at our home fields in Kent and Covington.
Q: When are practices?
A: Practice days are determined when teams are formed and the amount of practices and days are determined by the coach. Typically there are more practices during the week as the players get older. Practices are located at Ryan Brunner (RB), Real Life Church (RLC), and Kent Rotary Field (KRF).
Q: Coach and Player team requests:
A: To ensure fairness, team placement requests from managers, coaches, parents, or players shall not be accepted in divisions above the coach-pitch level. Requests in lower divisions are not guaranteed.
